The Internet population spends 1 trillion hours a year watching TV. What could we do with that time?

Recently I have found myself watching less and less TV. Instead I choose more active pursuits online. For generations we have wasted our collective consciousness on sitcoms. However, that is changing. What are we going to do with the cognitive surplus? Even if we collectively reduced our TV viewing by 1% we could create 10,000 wikipedias.

I am a web designer from the south of england. I produce Boagworld, the largest and longest running web design podcast. I also speak and write on the subject of web design at various conferences and for various web design magazines (both online and off).

Outside of work I spend most of my time running a christian youth group in my home town of Blandford. We have approximately 30-40 regular attendees ranging from 13 to 19. They are a great bunch and I love doing it.

As for Family, I am married to Catherine and have a gorgeous son called James.
